The (Watcher at the) Lake in the Morning

Okay, I think it's clear how much the kids love water. They spend most of every day in or around water. They were in heaven in July during the one-hour early morning swim team. One morning Josh told Mama that he wished swim team lasted three hours: One hour to swim. One hour to rest and play. And one more hour of swimming. They had a swim team dinner/party recently and had a blast! They got cool medals and a some really good memories.

Given their love of water, we went back to lake early in the morning. The morning was wonderful and the water was nice and cool. Check out the lighting in some of these pictures.

I got this one right when we got there. There is something that I just love about this picture of Josie and Josh. I can't put my finger on it, but I look at it a lot. They are such good kids.

Here's Isaac coming out of the lake. He found a squirt gun and was running to show us. He was very excited.

You can't really see it in this picture, but Adam started prancing this morning at the lake. He ran off in front of us, prancing along. Mama and I looked at each other with a mix of curiosity, amusement, and horror. "Where did that come from?" I asked. Mama just laughed. She said, "Get a picture, quick!" I missed it, but I manage to get this one. He wanted to prance, but I think the water was getting in the way. Anyway, he's a great little boy. He and Isaac are getting so big.

I told Josie and Josh - who the Happies refer to as JosieJosh (one word) - to look at each other. This is what I got.

One of the coolest things that morning was the ducks. A bunch of them were swimming right next to us. Isaac was in heaven. He put his hands together, forming a cup, saying, "Hold the ducks. Hold the ducks." He followed them carefully for a while. So, if the ducks were one of the best parts that morning, the woman following us was one of the weirdest.

I got out of the lake and Mama said, "Don't turn around, but that lady by lifeguard tower has been staring at us for about 10 minutes." I turned around and there she was, watching us. She even circled around to the other side to get a different angle on us. When we moved closer to the lake to feed the ducks, she followed us and watched us for quite a while. You can see her in the purple shirt in the left of the picture. She eventually moved off, but she never really stopped watching us for about an hour.
