Happy July 24th

On July 24, 1847 the Mormon pioneers made it into the Salt Lake Valley. In Utah, July 24th is called Pioneer Day and it's a really big deal. Here in Michigan we celebrated Pioneer Day at a local park with our friends from church.

Jacob sat in the grass and waved his flag most of the time. I don't know how he got it, but he probably should have been better supervised because that flag had a very sharp point - more like a spearhead - on the end of it.

Adam and Isaac were supposed to lead the childrens' bicycle parade, but Josie beat them to it. She was off like a shot and had to slow down a little farther up the route for the little children to catch up to her. She decorated her bike very nicely with ribbons.

Adam and Isaac eventually got the hang of the super cool Spiderman vehicle, sort of.

Joshua was beat! He tried so hard to put on a happy face, which, to me, looked very painful. He was feeling exactly how he looked in this picture. He fell asleep quickly that night.

I love this picture of Jacob. It's so patriotic. It almost looks like a political ad campaign poster - VOTE JACOB RACKLEY. HE'S AS AMERICAN AS APPLE PIE . . . AND REALLY CUTE.

Hi Michelle, this is Christina Butler from the 1st ward. This is out of the blue but I remember that we borrowed your moving boxes last time we moved in town and I was wondering where you got them. We are moving to UT in a couple weeks and I remember those boxes being the perfect size with handles and that we didn't have to use any tape to put them together. If you aren't planning on moving anytime soon and would like to sell yours, we'd be willing to buy them off you too. Let me know at mibutlers AT yahoo DOT com. Thanks!

Hey Michelle,

It's so great to see your sweet pictures. I can't believe how big all of your kids are getting! Josie especially looks so grown up. Aren't you due to have another boy in September? I probably mentioned... we too are having another boy in September. When is your due date? We are expecting ours on the 25th.. I was also told the 18th, but I'm going with the later date. I hope all is well in Michigan. We just made a huge move to South Carolina. Crazy huh? We are adjusting and just trying to get aquainted with new friends and the area. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope to get on the ball and actually blog again one day. LOL! Take care!
