The other day Joshua comes into our bedroom, early. We cuddle and talk, then he says that he wants to color, so he leaves. I'm still sleeping when he comes back holding a picture of a dinosaur that he had colored, and says, "Papa, we're smarter than dinosaurs; they can't make cupcakes." Of course, this makes perfect sense early in the morning, so I say, "That's right, Handsome, we're alot smarter than dinosaurs; they can't make cupcakes or muffins or cookies . . . ." I continue listing the ways we are smarter than dinosaurs as Joshua walks out holding his picture, mumbling in agreement.
Morals of the story:
1. Keep early morning conversations short.
2. We're so much smarter than extinct animals, but not for the reasons you might think.
