The other day the four big kids and I went for a late night walk. It started out as a walk around the block, but we ventured into the large meadow near our home. Josh asked if it was time for the rabbits and skunks to come out. It was. I told the kids that if they were very quiet we might see a skunk.
As we walked through the meadow, the kids were very peaceful. We held hands, Josie and Josh made sure their little brothers were safe and happy, Isaac whispered (and encouraged others to whisper), and Adam doddled behind us picking flowers. This must have inspired his siblings.
By the time we got home, we had picked three lovely bouquets of wild flowers, and a little bouquet of grass. We also saw three skunks and a frog.
It really was a wonderful evening. It was just what we needed.
I love you guys!
